To Be or Not To be? Huh?

Here’s a little story to make you go HMMMmmmm?

Anna, the church gossip, and self appointed monitor of the church’s morals, kept sticking her nose into other people’s business.  Several members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old blue pickup parked in front of the town’s only bar one afternoon.  She emphatically told George, and several others, that everyone seeing it there would know exactly what he was doing.

George, a man of few words, stared at her for a few moments and just turned and walked away.  He didn’t explain, defend or deny!  He said nothing! Later that evening, George quietly parked his  blue pickup in front of Anna’s house …. walked home …. and left it there….all night!  HAHAHAHA!!! I LOVE GEORGE!!!

Proverbs 18:21 states “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

The story above is a prime example of someone eating the fruit of their words. She pointed her finger at George and accused him of “sinning.” What a hypocrite?!?! Jesus did not come to  point His finger, He came to extend His hand.  We can’t just give lip service to Christianity and not live a changed life. If God has recreated us in His likeness, the character and grace of God will be demonstrated in our lives. The very fact that we are being watched should force us to deal with our erratic behavior as well as the behavior of others because there are serious consequences for those who cause others to stumble.  Jesus had some hard words  for them.  He said it would be better if stones were tied around their necks and they were cast to the bottom of the sea! (Luke 17:2) One thing I’ve learned in my walk with the Lord: people don’t read the Bible, they will read you! In  actions, character, deeds and especially YOUR WORDS.  Here is a cure all vitamin  for a Christian, B1.

Choose your words wisely, you never know who may park their truck in front of your house! LOL!

Have a great weekend everyone, see you all Monday!!!

  1. Great story – it is a wonderful reminder that we need to look in the mirror and focus on our own own sins rather than pointing the finger at others. We are not called to judge others but to love and accept them. Thanks!

    • You Shelly it goes back to why are you paying attentiot to the speck in your neighbor’s eye, when you have a plank sticking out of your’s!!! Thanks for the comment! Have a great weekend

  2. WOW THAT WAS AWESOME…………HOORAY FOR GEORGE, GOES TO SHOW YOU HOW ONE CAN BE LABELED INNOCENTLY AND B CRITICIZE……WE NEED TO READ LABELS ND INSTRUCTIONS IN ORDER TO GET THE PRODUCT RIGHT……………THNX FOR SHARING BEAUTIFUL

    • I thought it was pretty funny. George was proactive in this situation and not reactive. He could’ve exploded, he could’ve defended but what he did would make her keep her mouth shut forever! We as believers need to take that to heart. Instead of getting caught up in gossip and then trying to fight about something that was said, we need to just walk away and let it work itself out. Because what comes around will go around. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

  3. Very creative!! Thanks for liking my post.

    • I love the nugget concept. Like gold u have to dig, sift the dirt, sometimes u find Gold and sometimes you don’t but u find out that what ur looking for is not there. Those are life lessons sometimes God affirms us and sometimes he says move on I have something better elsewhere stay blessed!
