You’ve been asking God to open doors, to unlock what is holding you back from pursuing your passion. This week I am going to touch on a few things, maybe it’s your fear of change, the fear of failing or maybe your feel unqualified. God has already unlocked the doors to your passion now it time to open them and walk into your divine purpose. Your passion is going to look a bit different from mine. Why? Because we were all created differently in order to fulfill a different purpose. Your passion and your purpose are specific to who your are, where you are located, who surrounds you and what circumstances you find yourself in, which are completely different from mine. That is why the Bible says you are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” You are unique, crested exactly to God’s specifications. You want to pursue your passion and divine purpose as the Spirit leads you because where the Spirit is there is FREEDOM. NO LOCKS, NO CHAINS, NO SHACKLES. FREEDOM.
Here’s a phrase by Melody Hunter to keep in mind , “If it can be unlocked then it must be locked.”
There are four “keys” to unlocking your passion…
- Self-image or self-worth – Having a negative self-image will keep you locked in the place where fear thrives. You feel like you don’t look the part, you’re not smart enough or the thought that people won’t receive you well, keeps you in that “safe” locked box.
- Past mistakes – Every person has something in the past that they regret. How many times have we said, “I wish I had not done ______. I wish I had never gone into that relationship. I wish I had not put myself in so much debt.” We can run the gambit of “I wish I had not…” But it’s those very messes that God can take and make them your message. Your message to those who currently find themselves in such a mess. You can minister to those people because it is by the word of your testimony and the Blood of the Lamb that you show them they will overcome the issue. The Bible is full of examples of people who did that “thing of regret”: Moses a murderer, David an adulterer and murderer, Rahab a prostitute, Paul a Christian executioner, etc. and God used them.
- Commitments and Timing – Commitments to our family, jobs and responsibilities and not having the time to pursue our passion. We get caught up in the day-to-day toil of our commitment with this we have no to even try to conceive the possibly of following a dream or passion. That is not what God intended God gave you talents and gifts but because we somehow put them on the back burner we forget about them and settle for the now.
- Finances – Is a difficult situation because you either have them or you don’t. Sometimes its through no fault of our own that we don’t have the finances. So many people are unemployed due to budget cuts, companies folding and closing or other personal issues. However, sometimes it is directly our fault, allowing debt to creep in, over spending and “keeping up with the Joneses” mentality. God has blessed you with what you need not necessarily what you want. He has blessed you with what you have, if He can not trust you with what He’s given you now, how can He trust you with more? God loves you and doesn’t want to give you something that may ultimately lead you into a greater debt or destruction.
So this week will be addressing each topic individually. It is important you understand, that you have a divine calling and purpose which only you can achieve. YES YOU!!! Mother Teresa said, “I cannot do what you can and you cannot do what I can but together we can do great things.” Join me tomorrow as we take on unlocking the lock of self-image and self-worth. Don’t allow the enemy of your soul keep you locked up in a place where you will never come to the full realization of your divine purpose.
