Prey? or Pray?

“Are you prey?” or “Do you pray?”  the major difference here is your perspective!LIVE

  • Prey: one that is helpless or unable to resist attack; hunted or killed for consumption
  • Pray: to address God with adoration, confession, supplication or thanksgiving

Are you prey? Peter warned us in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about, seeking whom he may devour.”  Thus, the enemy of your soul is a skilled  and experienced hunter, he patiently stalks his prey, he is invisible, ready for its most vulnerable moment to pounce. By the time the prey notices the predator, it may be too late. In the animal kingdom the predator usually looks for the prey that has wandered away from the flock.  When the stray is alone it is exposed to attack from all sides. It can’t go back and it can’t go forward…its trapped, afraid, anxious, etc…Can you relate? Everything in you tells you to run but the fear is so overwhelming that  you simply lay down and wait for the end. You have stopped living and yet you are still breathing!!! Am I speaking to you?

  • What dream have you laid down to die?
  • What has God called you to do but fear will not allow you to move?
  • What must you give yourself permission to hope for?

So you lay down and pretend you are dead, thus presenting no danger to the enemy of your soul. Here is the differences in the perspective of the attack; Are you so worried about the risk of getting bitten that you are willing to spend your life playing dead? Or Is there something inside you that says, I am not giving up, so bite me or not I’m getting up and surviving!

Do you pray?

1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing,” prayer is ongoing. Prayer is not as per need basis. Prayer is not a venting session. God is calling you to have a relationship with Him.

  • What is holding you back?
  • What is shutting you down?
  • What is causing you fear, anxiety, depression…?

If you walk into what God is calling you in the fullness of the Holy Spirit you will never be the same again. You will walk in freedom, think in freedom, live in freedom!!! This is not to say you will live a life free of attacks, but God commands you to be strong and courageous. It means HE is with you!!! Do you understand the magnitude of this…God will never leave you, nor forsake you. You are not prey!!! You are a PRAYer warrior covered in the righteousness of Christ!

I pray that you become all that God has created you to be. I pray that you take hold of your God-given identity and refuse to be prey. I pray that you get up and fight for the precious life God has given you. I pray above everything that you do not quit because you are closer than you were before. I pray that you know who you are and whose you are and with that understanding hell will tremble.

T.D. Jakes said, “The challenge in life is to co-exist within two things that are totally true and yet opposing each other and your perspective is the only thing that makes the difference.”

Change your perspective: You are not prey because you pray!!!
